cysticacne

What is mild acne please?   Is this where you might have a few zits
that appear at period time?   Or is it just a few nasty pustule type
things every now and again?  Esoecially when you are a bit run-down or
stressed?

Here in New Zealand, dermatologists are urged not to treat mild cystic acne
with any accutane or retin-a products, but to keep the condition
monitored.    In most cases mild acne as described above is gone by
the time the sufferer (so-called) is around 18.

Accutane is heavily subsidised here and therefore strictly monitored.
I was able to take it for a long time because my condition was severe
and needed a long period of treatment.   But I had tried all other
alternatives first, believe me.

I do think that some people do cry wolf when a few little spots appear
at puberty or at hormonely affected times (particularly in teenage
girls).    Sit it out, clean your face properly and dont go to bed
without thorough cleansing with good anti-bacterial washing and you
will get over it most of the time.

If it persists, gets worse, and makes you feel embarrassed - go see a
dermatologist and get something to help.

But don't just squeal at the first few little pimples -- please.
